Alexis Ware was born on September 24, 1967, in Victoria, Texas. She comes from a family that consists of 4 girls, 3 boys, her mom, and step faher. At an early age it became obvious that Alexis was athletically inclined, and it wasn't before long that basketbal surfaced as her favorite sport. She graduated from Victoria
High School in 1986 and attended Texas Tech University on a full athletic scholarship. According to Alexis, the game of basketball is a lot like life. It takes strategy, support, team work, leadership and the ability to know when to follow to be successful. Most importantly, basketball taught Alexis to know her limits...a skill she lacked in her adolesence. Alexis grew to understand the need for boundaries and the freedoms that they provide. Now she speaks these lessons to students all over Faulkner and Pulaski county changing lives along the way.
Tens of thousands of students have been touched and influenced by Alexis' message.
