Mentoring Children of Incarcerated Parents is at the forefront of our focus.

C2E's mentoring program has grown since the beginning, nearly 20 years ago. Students and youth are identified in our community and referred by school officials, non-profit organizations, and even the incarcerated parents in central Arkansas.  Each student is matched with a trained and certified mentor skilled in dealing with these unique needs.  Mentors meet with their mentees at least once a week for a year committment.

For more information on this exciting new service, to recommend students, or to express wishes to become a mentor please click here to visit our MCP site.

Mentors Matter...Think About It.  Choosing to Excel has been providing mentors for the youth of Faulkner County since 1991.  In our experience we have seen the outstanding benefits of the mentor/mentee relationship.  Benefits like better behavior in the classroom, inproved grades, fewer trips to the principal's office, and improved social behavior; just to name a few!  Don't take our word for it, in the United States, nearly three million young people are reported to be in formal one-on-one mentoring relationships today, a six-fold increase from just a decade ago and this number is still rising.  The benefits of a formal, supervised mentor/mentee relationship are worth the committment...there's just one problem.

We don't have enough mentor's to adequatly fill the need right here in Central ArkansasCLICK HERE to visit our Mentoring page and learn more about this small commitment of time that will make a big difference in your community.

Be on the look out for the following clubs on your middle school and high school campuses in participating central Arkansas schools:

G.E.M.S. -  CLICK HERE to learn more about this encouraging girls club!

M.O.C.Q. - CLICK HERE to learn more about how we're learning to be Men of Character and Quality!

E.Y.E. Clubs - These lunch meetings are open to all!  CLICK HERE to learn more!

Leadership Team - These students have made a comittment to healthy choices!  CLICK HERE to learn more about these teens and what they're doing to make an impact in our community!

As Excel begins another year in Central Arkansas Schools we want you to know where to find us!  We currently have programs planned to run in both Conway High School East & West, Bob Courtway Middle School, Carl Stuart Middle School, as well as those students set aside to learn in an alternative learning environment or ALE.  Our facets can also be found outside Conway in Morrilton High School and Junior High, Greenbrier School Districts, Mayflower School Districts, and even at St. Joseph High School.  Be checking our website for up-to-date events and also keep an eye out for us on the school announcements!

Its almost time again!  Parents are looking forward to it and students are dreading it...school is back in session on Thursday, August 19 for Conway ISD.  Choosing to Excel is back in the swing with everyone else!  Be on the look out for club start ups and Excel activities in your school and check back with us for upcoming events!
